History

1990 Early days

The database system now marketed as Pool IT started as a bespoke system to Bollington Leisure Centre in 1990. In comparison with the latest version, it was a simple program based in dBase IV and featured relational tables of pupils, courses, and 'activities' ( now called courses ).

The Register

This is the link between Poolside and the data on the system. The printed register provides the instructor with all the required information.

Attendance, achievements, etc are noted on the register, this is then used to update the records on the system.

 

Mail Merge

This function creates personalised correspondence to pupils in the form of invoice letters.
